Congolese celebrate Brazzaville founder- Savorgnan de Brazza

Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, the man who founded Brazzaville was celebrated this weekend during the 10th edition of activities in his honour in Congo’s capital.
The garden of his memorial was with thousands of guests who turned out in their numbers to celebrate his role in making Brazzaville a renowned city in Africa.
The French explorer described as a lover of Africa was given the opportunity to explore in the 1870’s when the French government was convinced about his geographical findings.
“I resemble him. People have asked me to be in this place and this gives me pleasure,” a man identified as Hassani, who resembles De Brazza said.
Stylists used the occasion to present their brands, using models-all this as part of activities to remember him.
“For all models, all the artists who are here, we are living a wonderful moment. It is a great moment, we are happy to share,” one of the models said.
Another added: “The ten years of the Memorial reminds me of all the positive things that Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza did for Brazzaville to become a great city.”
Some discovered objects were added to De Brazza’s memorial. Congolese have expressed the wish that their country also celebrates King Makoko a co-signatory of Congo’s historic treaty in October 1880.
